Bill Collins, director of human resources and missions support office of the South Carolina Baptist Convention, is leaving his position after 20 years of service.
“I appreciate the opportunity the Lord has given me to serve him the past 20 years through the South Carolina Baptist Convention. I will commit to pray for the Lord’s leadership as South Carolina Baptists seek to follow him.”
Collins began his new role as business administrator for a local church in the Columbia area on April 8. He and his wife, Jill, began praying about the possibility after being approached by the church last year. At first, they sensed no desire to accept the opportunity, but a few months later, when they were approached again, he said, “the experience in prayer was different. We felt the Lord leading us and we believe this is his will. God has given me an opportunity to continue to do his work.”
Bill and Jill have two daughters, Casey and Jamie.
