Little River Baptist Church in Salem celebrated Joseph C. Saunders’ 50th anniversary in the gospel ministry on June 2. Saunders began his ministry in western North Carolina on June 3, 1963, and served several churches in the area before accepting a call to Ebenezer Baptist Church in West Union, S.C., in 1984. He pastored there for more than 11 years before serving other churches in the area. He joined Little River Baptist Church as pastor in 2010.
