A Spanish Missions recognition service was held recently at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church. Pictured, from left, are Jim Goodroe, director of missions for Spartanburg County Network; student missionaries Matt Mitchell, Anna Gurrero, Naomi Gurrero and Jesse Hammett; Evelyn Henderson; and Sean Vickers, minister of education. Goodroe presented honoraria from the annual Evelyn Henderson Offering to the student missionaries. Henderson began the Spanish Missions ministry 52 years ago while serving as minister of education at the church. Anna and Naomi Gurrero were able to do the daytime ministry in their “heart language,” and Naomi translated Vickers’ preaching in the Thursday night evangelistic service each week.
