Letter to the Editor: Fight contraception mandate

The Baptist Courier

I am surprised at the lack of Christian participation in the fray about the constitutionality of the contraception mandate in the Obamacare healthcare law. Why are we silent on this subject? The Catholic church is at the forefront of challenging this mandate, and the rest of organized religions are silent.

If all religions stand together and fight against the mandate, we can eliminate this portion of the law. A law that demands we pay for this is against God’s will, and we are, by silence, condoning it. If we remain silent, we are telling the federal government they have free rein to dictate anything else they may have against organized religions. Follow the lead of the Catholic church, and join them in the battle.
