State Cooperative Program giving behind budget through March

Cooperative Program gifts received from churches by the South Carolina Baptist Convention were more than $600,000 short of budgeted needs in the first three months of 2014.

According to figures released by Pam Carroll, SCBC chief financial officer, CP gifts forwarded by churches through the end of March were $601,814, or 8.45 percent, behind budgeted needs. The state CP budget for 2014 is $28.5 million.

At the national level, year-to-date contributions to Southern Baptist missions and ministries were 1.45 percent below the SBC Cooperative Program allocation budget goal.
