George Haltiwanger recently retired after serving 30 years as minister of music and worship at First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner.

He attended Anderson College, Carson-Newman College and the University of South Carolina. Additional South Carolina Baptist churches he served included Honea Path First, Garner Memorial in Anderson, Neals Creek in Anderson and Springdale in Columbia.

Haltiwanger, an Anderson native, is an active member of the South Carolina Baptist Singing Churchmen and the Southern Baptist Centurymen men’s choirs. He and his wife, Susan, have three children and five grandchildren.
