Tom Tucker to be nominated for SCBC first vice president

The Courier has learned that Tom Tucker, pastor of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church in Fort Mill, will be nominated for first vice president of the South Carolina Baptist Convention next month.

SCBC messengers will elect a slate of officers for 2015 when they convene Nov. 11-12 at Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia for the state convention’s annual meeting.

Tucker recently completed a five-year term on the SCBC Executive Board, serving as chairman in 2013. In 2005, he served as president of the South Carolina Baptist Pastors’ Conference. He holds a B.A. degree from Covington Theological Seminary.

He and his wife, Brenda, have two adult children and three grandchildren.
