Obituary: Carl Grayson Ellison

Carl Grayson Ellison, 92, of Anderson, died May 10, 2015.

Born April 20, 1923, in the Cheddar Community of Anderson County, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, where he was a B24 pilot.

He was a graduate of Anderson College, Furman University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Luther Rice Seminary. He served as pastor of churches in Anderson, Greenville, Laurens, Spartanburg and Cherokee counties for 37 years. He was appointed director of missions for North Dakota by the Southern Baptist Convention and served for five years. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel Williams Ellison, and a son. Survivors include a daughter, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
