Simpsonville First Baptist calls Wayne Bray as senior pastor

Wayne Bray has been called as senior pastor of Simpsonville First Baptist Church. He begins his duties Aug. 17. Bray served as lead pastor of Beulah Baptist Church in Douglasville, Ga., for 10 years, where worship attendance doubled during his tenure and a second church site was planted. Prior to his service at Beulah Baptist, Bray served churches in Georgia and Louisiana as pastor and associate pastor. Bray holds a Ph.D. in educational ministry in leadership from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and master’s degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and Columbia Biblical Seminary of Columbia International University. Frank Page, president of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention, served as interim pastor of Simpsonville First Baptist Church after former pastor Randy Harling was named president of Connie Maxwell Children’s Home in Greenwood in May 2014.
