Lawrence H. Garrett of Cayce died Aug. 20, 2015.

He was born Oct. 4, 1928, in Greenville County. He graduated from North Greenville College in 1955, Furman University in 1957 and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1961.

Garrett pastored churches in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina, including Kelleytown Baptist Church in Hartsville and Calvary Baptist Church in Lake City. He also served 18 years as director of missions for Colleton Baptist Association.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Faye Hall Garrett, two daughters, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
