Melvin Michael “Mike” Catoe, pastor of Mount Arnon Baptist Church in Allendale for the past 31 years, has announced his retirement from full-time pastoral ministry. Other pastorates include Central Baptist in Aiken and Double Pond Baptist in Blackville. He also served two student pastorates while studying at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. Catoe is a graduate of Wingate Junior College, Carson-Newman College and Southeastern Seminary. He and his wife, the former Sarah Louise Boozer of Greenwood, reside in Graniteville.
