Founder of Heart for Uganda to speak at Red Dam Baptist in Hardeeville

Alissa Cooper Sande, founder of Heart for Uganda, will be the guest speaker on Sunday, Nov. 22, at Red Dam Baptist Church in Hardeeville, S.C.

Sande will talk about her Clarion County, Pa.-based organization during the Sunday school hour at 10 a.m., as well as the worship service at 11 a.m.

In 2008, Sande resigned her job as an elementary teacher to fulfill her childhood dream of rescuing children in Africa.

“Our primary purpose for existence is to carry the hope and love of Jesus to the despairing in Uganda and empower them to create a better future for themselves,” she said.

“We endeavor to do this by rescuing the orphaned and vulnerable children, providing educational and medical services to the community, encouraging spiritual development through church and discipleship programs, offering employment opportunities, and inspiring children and adults by our words and actions.”

Heart for Uganda partners with God’s Care Ministries in Kyenjojo, Uganda. GCM was founded by Victor Sande, who was called by God to preach and “live” the Gospel and alleviate poverty in his nation.
