Cephas Hand (left) was ordained to the ministry by First Baptist Church of Cross Hill on Sept. 13. He attended Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute and serves as the chaplain at the Laurens County Memorial Home. Hand and his wife, LaRue, have three children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Participating in the service were current pastor Brett Davis (pictured at right), who presented the certificate of ordination, and former pastor Curtis Marshall (not pictured).
