Union author publishes storybook to help kids cope with death of sibling

Author and pastor Tommy Mann explains the loss of a baby sibling to young readers in his new children’s book, “Asleep in Heaven’s Nursery for Kids.”

More than half a million babies are lost in the womb each year. In many cases, the parents have to try to explain the tragedy to their children.

In January 2013, Mann had to explain to his daughter why her brother was no longer in her mommy’s tummy. “Asleep in Heaven’s Nursery for Kids” is a poem that contains the words he shared with her. Meanwhile, the year 2013 ended with the miracle birth of Mann’s son, TJ.

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

Mann is the author of six books, including “Asleep in Heaven’s Nursery for Kids.” He lives in South Carolina with his wife, Alicia, and their children, Reagan and TJ.

Mann is the associate pastor of Philippi Baptist Church in Union and the father of four children in heaven. At the end of 2015, he is stepping down from his church position to run for the South Carolina House of Representatives.
