Letter: Missionary grateful for S.C. Baptists’ gift to IMB

My wife and I wanted to take this time to thank South Carolina Southern Baptists for their continued support in our ministry and the ministry of so many others. I read today that my convention had decided to give a $1 million dollar gift to the International Mission Board. This information excites my heart to see how Southern Baptists in South Carolina are answering the call of God to support missions to “the least of these” throughout the world.

I can truthfully say that God is doing great work here in South Asia through your generous gifts and your continual giving. One such story is a young man who works alongside me. He came to Christ and began working for a company. He quickly proved to all those around him that he could be trusted to work hard and also desired to finish school. He received his high school equivalency degree in April and now is the director of our satellite campus. Through a partnership with a local Baptist convention, he is now working for us and working on his bachelor’s degree in theology. His desire is to finish school and go back to his community to tell them about the love of Christ.

This is just one story of the many that I have been able to witness because Southern Baptists from my home state are passionate about the Gospel. My hope is that one day you get to come here and experience the wonder of God’s amazing power and grace.
