Connie Maxwell president to speak at NGU’s fall 2015 graduation

On Thursday, Dec. 10, North Greenville University will hold its December graduation ceremony at Turner Chapel, featuring guest speaker Rev. Randy Harling.

Harling currently serves as president of Connie Maxwell Children’s Home in Greenwood, S.C. Prior to his tenure at Connie Maxwell, Harling pastored at First Baptist Church Simpsonville for more than 15 years.

Under Harling’s leadership, First Baptist Church of Simpsonville began a ministry called “A Home for Me,” which helped to connect churches and the South Carolina Department of Social Services in operating foster homes.

Harling has also worked with other churches in establishing their foster and adoption ministries and with the Columbia-based nonprofit Children Come First. He and his wife, Sherri, have personally fostered four boys, in addition to raising two sons of their own.

Harling will present the main message at the graduation ceremony, as well as receive an honorary doctorate from the university.

NGU’s fall 2015 graduation ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 10, at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are not required. Doors open at 1:00 p.m.
