David McKee retires after six decades as music minister

David McKee has retired as minister of music at Eureka Baptist Church in Anderson after 26 years of service.

He began directing church music as a ministry student at Wake Forest University 60 years ago and has served continuously in the years since.

Before serving at Eureka, McKee was music minister at Barker’s Creek Baptist Church in Honea Path, Southside Baptist Church in Anderson, and Second Baptist Church of Belton.

In addition to his church work, he is a retired human resources manager and worked for many years in radio. He is a former trustee of Connie Maxwell Children’s Home and past moderator for Saluda Baptist Association.

He is married to Lou McKee. They have three children and seven grandchildren. He will remain available for revivals and for interim church positions.
