George Daniel “Danny” Tuten, of Estill, died May 9, 2016.

Born in the Furman community of Hampton County, he began preaching at the age of 17 by filling in at churches in the community, and later was called as interim pastor of Robertville Baptist Church in Estill. He was serving as pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Early Branch, at the time of his death. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Nix Tuten, and a son.
