Mario Vargas, 77, of Camden, died March 17, 2016.

A native of El Salvador, he studied at the Baptist Seminary in Mexico City, Mexico, and the Hispano-American Seminary in Los Angeles, Calif.

Over the course of 50 years, he pastored churches in El Salvador, California, North Carolina, Arkansas, and South Carolina. His passion was spreading the Gospel through mission trips to El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, and the migrant ministries in Beaufort, S.C.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sylvia Vargas, three children and one grandchild.
