‘Unite’ seeks to connect generations for kingdom growth

Eight pastor-leaders have teamed up to produce: “Unite: Connecting Generations for Kingdom Expansion.”

The book, according to Lee Clamp, evangelism group director for the South Carolina Baptist Convention and one of the project’s contributors, is designed to challenge younger and older generations to draw wisdom and inspiration from each other so that the Great Commission might be fulfilled in this generation.

“Four authors under 40 wrote to their audience to challenge them to connect with older generations, and four authors over the age of 50 wrote to their audience to connect them with the younger generation of leaders,” said Clamp.

A press release for “Unite” said leaders need to take “intentional steps to bridge [the] generational divide.”

“Younger leaders need the wisdom, mentorship, and care that seasoned leaders can provide,” the release stated. “Leaders with years of experience need the joy of investing in future leaders and bearing their ministry burdens. Isolated leaders — like isolated Christians — are doomed.”

Will Browning, David Sons, Matt Rogers, and Lee Clamp joined with Marshall Blalock, Curt Bradford, Don Brock and Richard Harris to produce “Unite,” which is available through Amazon. The book was edited by Matt Rogers.
