Steven M. Kittrell will celebrate his 30th anniversary as pastor of Laurel Baptist Church in West Columbia on Sept. 11.
“The opportunity for any pastor to stay at one church for 30 years is a much greater testament to the love and grace of the church family than it is to the abilities of the pastor,” said Kittrell, a graduate of Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tenn., and Columbia Bible College (now Columbia International University).
“I am grateful that Laurel has blessed me with the privilege of being their pastor for so long.”
Kittrell’s vision for ministry has centered on the statement: “Reach, then teach; then teach to reach.”
He and his wife, Sandy, have three adult children.
