Bob and Phyllis Deaton will be officially honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual meeting of the Spartanburg County Baptist Network, which will meet Nov. 6 at Covenant Baptist Church in Spartanburg.

Pictured with the Deatons is Spartanburg Network secretary Jayne Lambert, a member of Woodruff First Baptist Church, where Deaton served as pastor from 1980-87. He also served other South Carolina churches.

Deaton is well known to South Carolina Baptists for his work as a representative for GuideStone Financial Resources and the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina. His wife, Phyllis, is also a familiar face to thousands of Baptists who met her during her 16 years of service with The Baptist Bookstore (now LifeWay Christian Resources) in Columbia.
