Lake Wateree honors longtime music director Oscar Branham for 25 years service

The congregation of Lake Wateree Baptist Church, Kershaw Association, honored music director Oscar Branham Jr. for 25 years of service during their Sept. 11 homecoming celebration. Pastor Mike Pelham made the surprise presentation of a plaque and a love gift from the church family. A framed poem written by a church member especially for the occasion was also presented to Branham, affectionately known by the congregation as “Junior.” Former pastor Ron Gregory was the guest speaker, and special music was provided by the Emmaus Road Quartet. A table in the fellowship hall displayed pictures and mementos from Branham’s years of service to the choir and the church. Branham and his wife, Patricia, have served the church since Nov. 10, 1991. They are pictured holding a basket filled with cards of appreciation from church members and guests.
