Maurice Bernard “Bobby” Morrow Jr., 87, of Gaffney, died Oct. 25, 2016.

Morrow graduated from Furman University in 1951 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956. He graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a master of divinity degree in 1959.

He served seven pastorates during his ministry, including congregations in Indiana and South Carolina (Woodruff First Baptist, Gaffney First Baptist, Cowpens First Baptist, and Boulevard Baptist in Anderson), and served more than 30 interim pastorates during his retirement years.

He was a member and pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church of Gaffney and was president of the South Carolina Baptist Convention in 1984.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Beverly Joye Morrow, three children, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
