Miller Murphy, longtime director of communications for Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, has been called as pastor of Connie Maxwell Baptist Church in Greenwood. Before joining the children’s home staff in 1991 as a development officer, Murphy was pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia. He is a 1976 graduate of the University of South Carolina and a 1979 graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Kathy, have a son, Andy, who lives in Lexington with his wife, Meredith, and their son, Luke.
