William Kenneth “Billy” Metters Sr., 86, of Asheboro, N.C., died Dec. 12, 2016.

A graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible College, he retired from the ministry after serving for three decades as pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Spartanburg. He also served churches in North Carolina during his 50 years of ministry.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Wilma Ball Metters, three children, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
