Foster Thomas Givins, 89, of Spartanburg, a retired Baptist minister of more than 50 years, died Feb. 10, 2017.

Born May 30, 1927, in Avondale, N.C., he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and attended Mars Hill College and Dan Greer Bible College.

He previously served as assistant pastor at Oak Grove Baptist Church and Roebuck Baptist Church. Baptist churches he served as pastor included Buckeye Forest, Riverview, Whitney First, and Beaver Dam, Gaffney.

He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Stone Givins. Survivors include two children and three grandchildren.
