Spartanburg DOM Jim Goodroe announces his retirement

Jim Goodroe, director of missions for Spartanburg County Baptist Network since 2000, will retire Feb. 28. He formerly pastored Camden and Sumter First Baptist churches. He was a Baptist Courier trustee for five years and served as chairman. He preached the state convention sermon in 2005 and was parliamentarian three other years. Under his leadership, Spartanburg Network grew from 83 to 101 churches. He hosted and administered the national Ethnic Ministries Summit and coordinated Spartanburg’s only course of Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. He and his wife, Nancy, will live in Spartanburg County, where he will transition back to local church ministry.
