The South Carolina Baptist Convention finished the 2016 budget year $937,414 short of budgeted Cooperative Program receipts of $28.5 million.
CP giving from convention churches totaled $27,562,585, or 3.39 percent below budgeted needs, according to figures provided by Pam Carroll, SCBC chief financial officer.
The 2016 CP budget included an allocation of $11,300,660 to the Southern Baptist Convention (41 percent of receipts); $6,944,682 to the SCBC’s affiliated state institutions; $580,218 to the International Mission Board; and $8,737,025 for Executive Board (Baptist building) state ministries.
In 2015, CP receipts were slightly higher, at $27,988,055.
The state convention’s 2017 CP income projection, at $28.5 million, remains unchanged from 2016.
