Thank you for your article on “The Shack” and the heresy of the book and movie.

There were two statements that stood out to me. One was by Dr. Albert Mohler about the lack of biblical discernment and biblical knowledge today. The second statement was by LifeWay Christian Resources, saying they no longer carry “The Shack.”

I think there is a connection here we are missing. If LifeWay, the publishing arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, could not discern that “The Shack” was heretical and was willing to profit from such erroneous biblical teaching, then could LifeWay and our convention be contributing to a lack of biblical discernment and biblical knowledge today? What are the theological standards for books and curriculum sold by LifeWay? The answers to these questions will decide the future of biblical knowledge and discernment for now and for generations to come.
