William R. “Bill” West Jr., pastor of Welcome Baptist Church in Pendleton for the past 12 years, will retire in December after 55 years of pastoral ministry. He formerly served as pastor of Pendleton Street Baptist Church in Greenville, Hartsville First Baptist Church and Batesburg First Baptist Church. He and his wife, Alice Brown West, have four children and six grandchildren.
