Valerie Rumbough, who most recently served as director of investments for the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina, has resigned, according to a Jan. 19 email sent to The Courier and others by Nathan R. McCarthy, president and CEO of the foundation.

Rumbough, a certified public accountant and certified financial planner, served the foundation for more than 17 years. She is married to Johnny Rumbough, director of missions for Lexington Baptist Association.

For many years, Rumbough was a featured columnist for The Baptist Courier with a column titled “In Your Interest.”

McCarthy, who became president of the foundation in August 2017, said in his email, “I know that many of you have known Valerie for over her 17 plus years with us and will join our staff in prayer as she pursues new avenues in her work and ministry.”

McCarthy said he will be working with foundation’s investment clients, and Kyle Cooper, controller, will be the foundation’s contact for reporting and statements.
