Upstate’s Sam Thrift publishes memoir

Businessman Samuel Thrift of Seneca has written a memoir, “Thrift: Building a Life” (Courier Publishing, $14.95).

Identical twins Tom and Sam Thrift were born during the Great Depression. At age 19, they were drafted into the Army and stationed in Japan, where they gained experience in heavy equipment operations and earthmoving engineering.

After they returned to the U.S., Tom and Sam joined their brothers in launching successful businesses in lumber, pulpwood, hardware stores, road construction and commercial property development.

For all their success, however, the Thrift brothers remained grounded, their feet planted firmly in the nurturing soil of family, faith and friends. This is their story.

“Thrift: Building a Life” can be purchased at Amazon.com or other online booksellers, or directly from the author by contacting Thrift Brothers Inc. at 864-882-3931.
