Carl E. Patterson, 87, of Greenwood, died Dec. 16, 2017.

Born May 27, 1930, in Pelzer, he was a graduate of Anderson College, Furman University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored churches in Mississippi and South Carolina, and was a retired claims superintendent with State Farm Insurance Co.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Peggy Patterson, two daughters and two grandchildren.
