George D. Holland, 70, of Gaffney, died Dec. 20, 2017.

In South Carolina, he pastored Peach Valley and New Pleasant Baptist churches. He also served churches in North Carolina.

He was a professor of church history and Southern Baptist history at Fruitland Baptist Bible College in Hendersonville, N.C., for 36 years.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce Hall Holland, three children and two grandchildren.
