William P. Clyde, 92, died Dec. 25, 2017, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community.

Born on Aug. 25, 1925, in Kemper, S.C., he received a master of divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

He served as pastor of Stephen Greene Baptist Church in Winnsboro, Allendale First Baptist Church, and Lexington Baptist Church. He was director of missions for four different South Carolina Baptist associations: Santee, Union, Saluda and Woodruff.

He is survived by a daughter. He was predeceased in 2017 by his wife of 68 years, Nelle Balliew Clyde.
