State Bible drill competitions, sponsored by the South Carolina Baptist Convention, were held in April and May.

Bible drill is a competitive program that teaches children and youth the importance of studying and memorizing Scripture.

On April 28, Lowcountry contestants gathered at Marion Baptist Church. First place went to Jaclyn Skinner, Sand Hill Baptist Church (Allendale-Hampton Association). Placing second was Hannah Tilley, Sandy Level Baptist Church (Columbia Metro Association). Heather Bennett, Spirit of Life Ministries (Allendale-Hampton Association) was third.

On May 5, Upstate winners were decided in a state meet at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Taylors. Brushy Creek Church members took the top two awards. Caleb Hodge placed first, and Sarah Ann Morgan was second.

Hodge won for the second straight year, winning with a state perfect score. Both Hodge and Morgan were six-year participants.
