Brenda Jean Martin Barnes, 72, a longtime ministry assistant for Beaverdam Baptist Association, died June 18, 2018.

Barnes, of West Union, served the association’s churches for 29 years. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Willie Hugh Barnes, three children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
