NGU to host ‘Work as Worship Retreat’ livestream event

On Feb. 22, hundreds of local and international churches will host the second annual Work as Worship Retreat livestream event. The retreat will bring together thousands of Christian business professionals from around the world to hear speakers like Jon Acuff (New York Times bestselling author), Steve Green (president of Hobby Lobby), and Megan Alexander (correspondent at Inside Edition) explore the sacred connection between faith and work.

“We all spend the majority of our waking hours doing some kind of work — in the office, on the job site, or around the house — but we are often tempted to compartmentalize our faith and our work,” says RightNow Media president Brian Mosley. “However, God has called us to live out our faith every day of the week, not just on Sundays.”

RightNow Media’s beliefs about faith and work boil down to the following eight tenets: Work is good; sin corrupted work; Jesus makes it possible for work to be redeemed; God gave us a mission; we carry Christ into our work; God grows us through our work; God can do more with our work than we can imagine; work is worship.

North Greenville University will host a livestream of the event on Feb. 22, from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Tim Brashier Campus, located at 405 Lancaster Ave. in Greer.
