Sandra R. Brannon, 80, of Columbia, wife of former South Carolina Baptist Convention director of public relations Thomas J. Brannon, died Dec. 1, 2020, after a lengthy illness.

A native of Spartanburg, she was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing. She later served in both administrative and skilled nursing capacities, including director of patient care services at Baylor Medical Center and associate director of nursing at Baptist Medical Center in Columbia. She and her husband were longtime members of St. Andrews Baptist Church, Columbia.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Tom.
