Lakelands Association starts construction on new office complex

Lakelands Baptist Association broke ground Sept. 20 for a new office complex.

After selling its former office two years ago, Lakelands Association has been operating out of the old infirmary on the campus of Connie Maxwell Children’s Ministries.

The new office building will be a 9,350-square-foot facility located at 232 Bypass 225 South in Greenwood, next to Abney Memorial Baptist Church, which donated two-and-a-half acres beside their facility for Lakelands’ relocation.

The office complex will have four specific areas: a community room for a meeting/training area and food preparation area; an administrative suite for the administrative secretary, financial secretary and associational missionary offices; a Biblical Counseling Center, the association’s newest ministry; and a large storage area for the association’s disaster relief feeding and chainsaw trailers, block party trailer and accessory trailer.

Construction was scheduled to begin in late October, and David Little, associational missionary, said the association anticipates dedicating the new offices during its annual meeting in October 2022.
