“We choose to go to the moon.”
With these words from John F. Kennedy, the United States of America began an accelerated mission to put the first man on the moon. No one could fathom a man standing on the moon, but it came to reality on July 20, 1969.
“This is one small step for man, but one giant leap for mankind.”
If you knew you wouldn’t fail, what would you try in 2022 that only God could get the credit for doing?
Maybe God wants to take you somewhere you have never gone before. As you begin the year, what are you not allowing yourself to believe that God could do through your life and your church?
Sometimes I wonder if we are losing the ability to dream. With all of the difficulties of the last few years, have we become apathetic and disillusioned? Have we become so consumed with ourselves that we can’t see others? Have we allowed our failures to let us lose hope? It’s time to dream again.
God wants to use you to advance His mission to transform lives. He wants you to experience the fullness of His glory as He works through you.
What is your moonshot?
God is able to do immeasurably more than you could ever ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Do you think He was being just figurative when He said mustard seed-sized faith could move a mountain? What are you waiting on? Dream again, and start asking for Him to exceed your expectations and use you to change lives in 2022.
Think of that one person who would leave you stunned if they trusted Jesus and were transformed. Start praying and begin preparing. God can use you if you are willing to launch and take a risk.
In February, we will begin our journey back to the moon. It has taken us 50 years to return, and now we have more computing power in a cell phone than the astronauts did on their entire rocket in 1969. However, it’s not the moon we have our sights set on. We are headed to Mars, but we need to go to the moon to get there. What we do today launches the next generation to finish the mission of every nation, tribe and tongue hearing the message of the gospel.
