Joyce Sudduth was honored by the Piedmont Baptist Association on Nov. 10 after 45 years of service as ministry assistant. A large group from the association’s churches gathered at Rock Springs Baptist Church, Easley, for her retirement celebration. Accompanied by her husband and family, she received video messages and in-person congratulations from former associational missions strategists and current director of missions Robert Dickard. Paul Turner, pastor of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and chair of the personnel team, emceed the evening. After receiving various gifts, plaques, and congratulatory expressions, Sudduth said, “I’m very humbled. I am the kind of person who does not get recognition. I work in the background, but will never forget this night.”
