Thomas Rhame Nelson, 91, of Myrtle Beach, died Dec. 26, 2022.

A native of Charleston, he was a graduate of the College of Charleston. He was also a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the University of Kentucky. He served as pastor of churches in Kentucky and North Carolina, and was later called to serve at First Baptist Church, Travelers Rest. He also taught at Furman University and North Greenville Junior College, and was interim pastor for several churches in the Waccamaw Baptist Association. He and his wife were members of Ocean View Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Harriet Godwin Nelson, two daughters, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
