Carrol Caldwell, who turned 91 in June, recently marked 20 years as pastor of Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church in Cross Keys, which will celebrate its 240th anniversary on Aug. 4. A bivocational pastor for 64 years, Caldwell was the pioneering pastor of Cavins Baptist Church in Woodruff, from where he retired in 2004. He has received both the Order of the Silver Crescent and the Order of the Palmetto awards.
