ANDERSON— Whitley Anderson’s header in the 84th minute sealed a 3-2 win for AU over Coker at Spero Financial Field on Sunday to open conference play. Forward Kaitlyn Gregory recorded three assists while Addison Peoples and Gabby Kirchner each scored a goal.
Goalkeeper Aliyah Morgan saved three of the Cobras’ five shots on goal. She’s recorded 17 saves and allowed just three goals this season. After allowing just one shot through the first two games, she won the SAC Defensive Player of the Week award.
Anderson (2-1, 1-0) will play USC Aiken on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Furman 3, Charleston Southern 0
CHARLESTON—The Bucs were shut out by Furman on Sunday at CSU Soccer Field. Charleston Southern recorded just 10 shots and four shots on goal. Goalkeeper Avery Mason saved just 50% of shots on goal.
Charleston Southern (1-4, 0-0) will play at The Citadel on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

USC Aiken 3, North Greenville 0
AIKEN—North Greenville was shut out for the third consecutive game to open the season, this time in Aiken on Saturday afternoon. The Trailblazers recorded 10 shots and four shots on goal, but couldn’t sneak one past the Pacers goalie Savannah Yerger.
North Greenville’s goalie Angeline Montoya saved eight of the Pacers 11 shots on goal in her first full 90 minutes of the year.
North Greenville (0-3, 0-0) will begin conference play against Belmont Abbey on Tuesday night.

TIGERVILLE—The Trailblazers were shut out in their home season opener by Georgia Southwestern at Pepsi Stadium on Wednesday. Forward Ana Maria Pinzon recorded the team’s lone shot and shot on goal. Goalkeeper Cadie Pendergrass saved six of the Hurricanes’ eight shots.
