HawkinsVirginia Merritt Hawkins, 89, of Columbia, wife of the late B.F. Hawkins, a retired pastor and director of missions, died Dec. 4, 2012.
Born in Anderson County, she was a graduate of Furman University. She was a kindergarten teacher and a preschool leader for the South Carolina Baptist Convention. She was also past president of the Minister’s Wives Association of Greenville.
Survivors include two children, five grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
