McKnight will have a particular focus in leading the youth ministry degree program, but will also teach courses in church planting, Christian worldview and other ministry areas.

He has served since 2008 as lead pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church in Hartsville. While in Hartsville, he also co-founded Carolina Family Planning Centers and Twin Vision Consultants, a church consultation team that helps congregations become healthy and growing churches.

A graduate of Bluefield College, McKnight earned a master of divinity and a Ph.D. in evangelism and church growth at Southern Seminary. He has been an adjunct faculty member for Anderson University and New Orleans Seminary. He and his wife, Angela, have four children.

“We are excited to have Dr. McKnight join our team of pastor-scholars at Anderson University,” said Michael Duduit, dean of the College of Christian Studies. “He brings a combination of strong academic credentials, practical pastoral experience, and a heart for reaching people.” – AU
