Allen L. Elder, missions and outreach pastor of Wellford Baptist Church, has published a new book, “Ministering as a Deacon: Applying the Great Commission to the Deacon Ministry.”
Elder has served more than 25 years in deacon and pastoral ministries. “Ministering as a Deacon” doesn’t provide an overview of qualifications necessary to becoming a deacon or suggest a new program for the church.
Instead, Elder said, it focuses on “how deacons can mentor, multiply, and mobilize their local church to obey the Great Commission to make disciples in all nations.”
