Ronald DavesRONALD DAVES has been called as senior pastor of Temple Baptist Church, Columbia. A native of St. Louis, Mo., he is a graduate Columbia International University and Southeastern Baptist Seminary. During his 20 years in the ministry, Daves has served for more than 14 years as a pastor in South Carolina. He and his wife Karen have two children. Sandi, who graduated from North Greenville College, is married to Weldon Sellers, youth pastor of Varennes Heights Baptist Church, Anderson. Their son Ronnie is a graduate of Charleston Southern.
ALVIN CROOKS has been called as pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Central. This is his second term as pastor there, having served previously from 1982-85. Other pastorates include churches in Pickens and Oconee counties.
RAY LONGENECKER was called as pastor of Six Mile Baptist Church, Pickens Twelve-Mile Association, Feb. 19. Before entering full-time ministry, he was manager for safety, security and emergency at Palmetto Hospital. He is a 1999 graduate of Andersonville Seminary. During a 20-year career in the Air Force, he was music and youth minister at various churches. He also served as pastor at Rices Creek Baptist Church, Liberty, for eight years.
David ColeDAVID COLE began duties as minister of music/children and families at Leawood Baptist Church, Greenville, Feb. 27. A graduate of Liberty University, he has ministered in churches in South Carolina since 1976, most recently serving Reedy River Baptist and Bethel Baptist in Greenville. He and his wife Mona have two children, Beth and Katelyn.
JAMES HAMILTON has resigned as pastor of First Baptist Church, Cross Hill, effective April 16. Hamilton and his wife Lane will live in Laurens.
Sandra kay SelfSANDRA KAY SELF has been called as minister of childhood education by Lexington Baptist Church, Lexington. She began her ministry Feb. 16. Self is a graduate of Gardner-Webb and North Greenville universities and Southeastern Seminary. Prior to coming to Lexington, she was minister to children at Southside Baptist Church, Spartanburg. She has one child, Toli.
TIM DIPPEL has been called as minister of music at White Springs Baptist Church, Lancaster. A graduate of Georgia Southern University, Dippel was a bivocational minister of music at Second Baptist Church, Kershaw, and served on the Moriah Baptist Association music committee. A member of the South Carolina Baptist Singing Churchmen, Dippel and his wife Carolyn have a son, Russell, 17, and a daughter, Rachael, 14.
FRANK CRUMPLER retired from the pastorate of Rainbow Park Baptist Church, Decatur, Ga, March 31. Crumpler, a former pastor of First Baptist Church, Camden, is concluding 50 years as an ordained pastor.
Nathan NeighborsNATHAN NEIGHBORS began serving at Morningside Baptist Church in Spartanburg as associate pastor to youth, Feb. 15. He is a graduate of Anderson University and Southwestern Seminary. Neighbors and his family have moved to Spartanburg from Lancaster.
Jessica SullivanJESSICA SULLIVAN has been called as director of students for First Baptist Church, Hartsville. She is a graduate of USC Honors College with a B.S. degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in secondary education. She and her husband Gary are the parents of two children, Sarah Catherine, 2, and Parker, four months. Sullivan taught math in high school for more than four years prior to joining the church staff.
